MT Princeton RV Park in Buena Vista, CO is one of those RV Parks you will want to go back to time and time again. The park is owned and run by Jeff and Cindy, a husband and wife team that pours their heart into the daily activities to keep this place in spectacular condition. The grounds and common buildings are always kept clean. Attention to detail is obvious in how clean the laundry room, showers, bathhouse, and park models are extremely well maintained. If you ever find anything not working just tell Jeff or Cindy and they will remedy the situation instantly. Cindy is always organizing some sort of event at the park. They have Jeep trail ride groups, ice cream socials, and even some live entertainment at times.

Things to do:

If you are not familiar with Buena Vista, CO. you will want to add this small mountain town to your list! It offers everything you could imagine set in beautiful scenery surrounded by several mountain peaks that exceed fourteen thousand feet.  And if you like to go shopping in the small downtown shops Buena Vista offers several of those too. If you like to off-road or go for long hikes you will be in heaven. Numerous hiking, biking, and Jeep trails are within minutes of the park. Or if you want to visit ghost towns where the buildings still stand but no one lives anymore, several of them are less than an hour away.

Restaurants:

One of the best Mexican restaurants we have ever eaten at is located in Buena Vista and you can read our review of Lorenzo’s here. Or if you prefer a great steak or chicken dinner try The Lariat! The Lariat offers some fantastic meals at a very affordable price.

The Backstory:

Jeff and Cindy purchased the park in 2007. We had the pleasure of sitting with them one evening and hearing their story of how they became the owners of this RV park. The couple had previously owned a ranch in Nebraska. Their journey began when Jeff found out that his job with the power company would require him to relocate his family to another state. Jeff and Cindy decided if they had to give up their ranch and relocate they were going to do so on their own terms. So, with huge amounts of faith, they decided to sell the ranch and all the equipment associated with it so they could find an RV park to purchase and operate. Neither of them had ever run an RV park before so this whole experience was new to them. But in the end, they found a way to sell the ranch while simultaneously finding an RV park to purchase and in a state they wanted to live in. We’re so happy they have made such a wonderful destination park for folks like us to enjoy!

This RV park was not as lovely when they purchased it as it is now. Jeff had created many of the great sculptures you will see here. Like the metal dinosaurs, you see in our pictures. And the fantastic site markers are steel signs the Jeff created also. Cindy works continuously behind the scenes in the office to keep everything flowing seamlessly. They have poured money into the infrastructure of this park and now have the ability to offer you a spot for the night in your 45′ coach, or, a spot to park your pop-up camper for the entire season. They can accommodate any RV.

Because they book up quickly and for several months in advance, you want to make reservations early. They are home to special events like the FMCA Jeep rally every fall. And because people like us tell you how great they are, we expect the waiting list to get a bit longer.

Jay 'n Trish

We are Jay and Trish, and we're traveling full time in our 38-foot 5th wheel across America. We like to support small business along the way so we always look for that special place the locals like to eat. We also look for full hook up camping spots to basecamp for a week or two while we visit the local communities so we can report back to you what we find. We will give you our honest opinion of each place we stay, eat and work out. Our Beagle Boxer mix, Echo, will also give you reviews on dog friendly places and local dog parks that she visits.
