In Limon, Colorado is another KOA campground that’s easy to get to off of I70 on the eastern state line of Colorado. Limon Colorado has a very small population of about two thousand and very few options for eating. But this is a great park to stay at for a night or two. The park has recently been purchased by a new couple just a few months ago prior to our stay. They appear to be making upgrades throughout the park, so although things were not perfect during our stay they appear to be working on things.

During our stay, it rained overnight. When I opened our door to step out of the RV our steps led directly into a pool of water. I looked at our neighbors and many of them had the same issue. The islands between the sites are lower so the water pools between the sites. This was a major issue for us. I did tell the office and they promptly brought us a load of gravel to give us a dry place to step. The fact that they did try to remedy the water problem was greatly appreciated.

They offer a few nice tent sites that have covered picnic tables. The tent sets up on a bed of sand and all of the sites appear to have water and power.

The dog park is fantastic. It has two sections, a small side for the dogs under thirty pounds and a very large side for the bigger dogs. They have a self-filling water bowl that keeps the water bowl full at all time. The dog bag station was well stocked and they kept the trash can emptied. The grass was also well maintained inside the dog run.

We will stop here again when we travel through this area and update if any improvements have been completed.

Jay 'n Trish

We are Jay and Trish, and we're traveling full time in our 38-foot 5th wheel across America. We like to support small business along the way so we always look for that special place the locals like to eat. We also look for full hook up camping spots to basecamp for a week or two while we visit the local communities so we can report back to you what we find. We will give you our honest opinion of each place we stay, eat and work out. Our Beagle Boxer mix, Echo, will also give you reviews on dog friendly places and local dog parks that she visits.
