The KOA in Gila Bend, AZ. is a great stop for the night when passing through Arizona on Interstate 8. This location is a bit secluded and there isn’t much in the area for restaurants or grocery stores. But the area is very quiet and extremely easy to get into and out of. They offer some HUGE pull-through spaces that can accommodate any size rig. We have a 38′ 5th wheel plus the F250 and Jeep and our lot was far from full.

The rates are what you expect for any KOA and the grounds are well taken care of. They have a beautiful pool that was kept sparkling clean. The shower house was immaculate and everything looks like brand new.

The dog park was one of the best dog parks we have found in any RV Park and it has multiple pens for small and large dogs social or unsocial. And one of the nicest things we ever saw was the memorial area for pets who have passed. Anyone can write a beloved pets name on one of the rocks provided as a memorial to our beloved fur-babies.  Many parks allow dogs but that doesn’t mean they are welcome. At this park, the dogs are welcome and they are provided great areas for them to play and use the restroom.

Jay 'n Trish

We are Jay and Trish, and we're traveling full time in our 38-foot 5th wheel across America. We like to support small business along the way so we always look for that special place the locals like to eat. We also look for full hook up camping spots to basecamp for a week or two while we visit the local communities so we can report back to you what we find. We will give you our honest opinion of each place we stay, eat and work out. Our Beagle Boxer mix, Echo, will also give you reviews on dog friendly places and local dog parks that she visits.
